The Atlas of True Names (Strange Maps) “The Atlas substitutes the original meanings of the world’s place names for the better-known, ossified toponyms.”

Man, I thought “Orkney” sounded pretty cool, but “Isles of the Sea Monsters” is about 100 times better!  Someone should setup a GeoNames clone that serves these!
